Keilah Maldonado, 2011

Before transferring to Lancaster Mennonite, Keilah was having difficulty with even basic math. Once at Lancaster Mennonite, Keilah found out immediately that the teachers truly cared about her. Not only did Keilah soon understand more about her times tables, but her confidence in her abilities, and in her potential, were multiplied.

Keilah says, "LMH is a place where kids can feel comfortable because of our faith—because we can share our beliefs with each other and converse about them."

Through LMH she achieved her goal of being accepted at Huntington University. Keilah felt prepared because she learned a few other things at Lancaster Mennonite, like holding herself to high standards in everything she says and does. That, she says, is "one of the best things a teenager could be taught."
